Home Style Jeera Paratha

Paratha is very popular Indian flat bread, Out of all different types of parathas, this roasted jeera(cumin) paratha is very popular and easy to make. It is soft and flaky with nice aroma of roasted cumin. Roasted jeera paratha taste better when it’s hot. It can be used for dinner, breakfast and for lunch. You can enjoy this authentic jeera parathas  with hot masala tea or just bowl of creamy plain or masala curd.       

Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour – 2 ½ cup
  • Oil – 3 tbsp.
  • Jeera – 1 tsp. (roasted)
  • Water – as needed
  • Salt – as per taste

Preparation

  • Take one bowl and add whole wheat flour, salt ,roasted jeera and oil as per quantity specified in Ingredients. Quantity of jeera can be adjusted as per your taste.
  • After that, add water as needed and knead the dough. You can adjust softness of dough by adding oil.
  • Add 1 tsp. oil on dough and give rest for 20 minutes.
  • Once done, Make medium lemon size ball and roll it on roller till it reaches desire thickness.
  • when its rolled, put that paratha on hot pan and roast with ½ tsp. oil.
  • After its light golden brown, flip over and roast with ½ tsp oil.
  • Cook till both sides of paratha is golden brown.
  • Take one plate put paper on it and now put paratha. Paper will help absorb extra oil and moisture.
  • Make other paratha in similar way. You can make approx. 12 – 15 paratha with this dough.
  • When hot, Enjoy parathas with tea or your favorite curries.
