Sev is a crispy fry Indian noodle, once you know the recipe, is very easy to make and it takes less time too. This besan sev has very few ingredients. Sev is very useful for garnishing. We can use sev for garnish poha, chaat, aloo chat, sev puri, dabeli, bhel, and many more.

Sev can be used for making curry too. It is called sev – tamato curry. This curry is very famous in Gujarat and very easy to make too. There is so many types of sev like phudina sev ( made with mint ), palak sev ( made with spinach ) , and aloo sev ( aloo bhujiya). This homemade sev is used to add crunch to any food. You just boil any kathol like moong, chana dal, choli (eye bean), and add some spice and sev. It will turn that boring but very healthy sprout turn into a very tasty dish. So try this easy recipe for sev and enjoy with any food.

Ingredients

Salt12 gm
Turmeric1/2 gm
Oilfor Frying
Wateras needed

Preparation

  • In one frying pan take oil and heat on medium flame.
  • While oil is heating, take one big bowl and mix besan , salt and turmeric.
  • Add little quantity of water and kneed dough. Keep adding small quantity of water as needed until dough little soft.
  • Now take sev maker / noodle maker and lubricate inner surface with oil.
  • Add dough in sav/noodle maker, press and make noodles in circular shape in frying oil.
  • Fry for 2-3 minutes. When you feel sev little crisp ,take out on paper to absorb extra oil.
  • Store in air tight box to retain freshness.
