- Red chili flakes or black pepper (optional, for added spice)
Prepare the Green Chutney
In a blender or food processor, combine the coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies, garlic, ginger, salt, and lemon juice.
Blend until you get a smooth paste. Adjust the spice level by adding more or fewer green chilies as per your preference.
Assemble the Sandwich
Take two slices of bread and butter one side of each slice
Place cheese slices on the unbuttered side of one bread slice for each sandwich.
Optionally, if you like, you can add sliced tomatoes, cucumber, and onions on top of the cheese for extra flavor and crunch.
Spread a generous layer of the green chutney on the unbuttered side of the other two bread slice
Place the chutney-covered bread slices on top of the cheese and optional ingredients, chutney-side down, to create sandwiches.
You can enjoy the sandwiches as they are, or for a warm and crispy texture, grill or toast them. If grilling, you can apply a little butter on the outside of the bread slices for added crispiness.
Grill or toast until the bread is golden brown and the cheese melts.
Slice the sandwiches diagonally and serve them hot with ketchup or additional green chutney on the side.
Enjoy your homemade Cheese Chutney Sandwiches! Feel free to customize them with your favorite ingredients and spice levels.
